12 Week Horse-Guided Wellbeing

12-Week Horse-Guided Wellbeing Program

Grounded connection. Gentle awareness. Learning in partnership with horses.

We’re excited to open bookings for our 12-Week Horse-Guided Wellbeing Program at Brumby Equine Assisted Therapy — a nature-based, emotionally enriching experience that supports personal growth through groundwork and horse interaction.

This is a non-therapeutic program, facilitated by a qualified practitioner. It’s designed for people who are curious about deepening their relationship with horses and themselves — whether you're new to horses or simply seeking a more grounded, respectful way to connect.

Over 12 gentle sessions, we’ll explore:

  • How to safely and respectfully interact with horses on the ground

  • Emotional regulation and self-awareness through body language and breath

  • Relationship dynamics like boundaries, leadership, trust and choice

  • How horses respond to subtle cues — and what they reflect back to us

  • Communicating through presence rather than pressure

  • Building a partnership where both horse and human feel seen

Each week builds on the last, with a focus on observation, consent-based interaction, and quiet leadership. The learning unfolds slowly and in real-time — guided by the horse’s responses and the human’s growing awareness.

This is not about “training” the horse.

It’s about listening, adjusting, and growing together.

6-Week Equine Assisted Learning Program - For Children Aged 5–10

Building confidence, respect, and connection — one hoofbeat at a time

Program Overview

This 6-week Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program is designed to support children aged 5 to 10 in developing foundational skills for safely and respectfully interacting with horses and with each other.

Over six weekly sessions, children explore emotional awareness, body boundaries, gentle leadership, and communication — all while building confidence through real-life, hands-on experiences with our herd.

This is not a riding program. Instead, it focuses on groundwork and relational learning in a calm, supportive environment where children can grow at their own pace.

Each session is facilitated by a qualified practitioner and blends safety, skill-building, and playful curiosity.

13 Week Equine-Assisted Wellbeing Program

13-Week Equine-Assisted Wellbeing Program

This 13-week program formulated by Equine Assisted Therapy Australia (EATA) and draws on the EATA model, an experiential and somatic framework designed to support emotional regulation, personal growth, and relational wellbeing through the partnership of humans and horses.

The program provides a structured and trauma-informed approach to emotional and psychological support. While the original study focuses on adults, the program’s core themes can be adapted across ages and contexts.

Program Overview

Participants attend one session per week over 13 weeks. Each session is facilitated by a qualified practitioner and supported by carefully selected horses. Sessions are experiential, held in natural outdoor environments, and involve a mix of observation, gentle interaction, reflective practices, and grounding tools. No previous horse experience is required, and all activities are unmounted (non-riding). The focus is on presence, awareness, and co-regulation — not performance.

  • Strengthen their capacity for connection and self-reflection
