Following the overwhelming success of our 2024 trial camp, we are thrilled to announce that Spring Camp is now an annual event at Brumby Equine-Assisted Therapy!

This unique two-day, one-night experience is designed especially for teens aged 12 to 17, offering a powerful opportunity for personal growth, confidence building, social connection, and self-discovery—all set in the peaceful presence of horses and nature.

What Makes This Spring Camp Different?

Unlike traditional camps, our focus is on emotional well-being, resilience, and self-awareness. Led by qualified mental health professionals and equine-assisted therapy facilitators, campers will engage in a mix of reflective and practical activities designed to build:

    •    Emotional regulation using the Window of Tolerance model

    •    Social and communication skills

    •    Teamwork and collaboration

    •    Self-awareness, confidence, and grounding techniques

Campers will participate in group sessions, horse interactions, nature-based activities, and plenty of time to connect, reflect, and grow in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.

Camp Dates:

Spring Camps during the NSW government school spring break:

    •    Monday, September 29 – Tuesday, September 30, 2025

Each camp is limited to a maximuim of six campers, ensuring a personalised and enriching experience.

Investment:

The total cost of the camp is $500 per camper, which includes:

    •    Two full days of workshops and activities.

    •    All meals and snacks during the camp.

Supporting The Kind Farm Inc:

We’re proud to donate a portion of the camp fees to The Kind Farm Inc, a horse rescue organisation based in Mullumbimby, NSW. By joining our Spring Camp, you’re not only investing in an enriching experience but also contributing to the care and rehabilitation of rescued horses.

What to Expect:

Overnight Camping Under the Stars

Campers will experience overnight camping in a safe, fully supported environment. Whether they are seasoned campers or new to the outdoors, our team is there every step of the way, providing guidance on setting up tents and ensuring everyone feels right at home.

Creative Expression

Spring Camp is a no-reading, no-writing zone! Instead, we encourage self-reflection and personal expression through artistic outlets such as journaling, painting, drawing, and more, offering a natural, enjoyable way for campers to share their inner experiences.

Professional Facilitation & Mental Health Support

Our camp is facilitated by qualified counsellors and equine-assisted mental health therapists experienced in supporting teens with diverse needs, including anxiety, neurodivergence, and trauma recovery. Our professionals create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every camper is encouraged to be their authentic self.

Workshop Highlights

Self-Awareness & Emotional Regulation

Campers will delve into the workings of the nervous system and explore emotional regulation techniques, including practices based on the Window of Tolerance model, to better understand their stress responses and develop healthy coping strategies.

Confidence & Social Skills Development

Guided by experienced counsellors and equine-assisted therapists, campers will engage in structured activities and teamwork challenges designed to enhance communication, establish healthy boundaries, and build self-advocacy, empowering them to navigate friendships and social interactions with greater ease.

Equine-Assisted Activities

Leveraging the calming, intuitive nature of horses, campers will take part in hands-on equine activities that nurture trust, boost self-confidence, and foster a deeper connection with their emotions in a supportive, real-world context.

Nature-Based Therapy & Relaxation

Immersed in nature, campers will experience mindfulness sessions, grounding exercises, and sensory-based activities that work together to reduce stress, improve mood, and cultivate a lasting sense of inner peace and well-being.
